Welcome to the Banshee’s Table: Where Chef-Made Candles, Scents & Stories Meet
(AKA, where I pretend I can write, but let’s be real, this might be more therapeutic than literary.)
So, here we are. The Banshee’s Table. If you’ve stumbled upon this, it means two things: one, you love candles (or at least you’re curious about them), and two, you’ve got a soft spot for some good old Irish wit—and tea, because no Irish story starts without it. Grab your mug and settle in, because this isn’t just a blog about candles; it’s a little slice of my world, straight from the heart of Dallas with a bit of Irish seasoning thrown in.
Let’s get one thing out of the way: I’m no Hemingway. I’m more of a “pour another cup of tea and solve the world’s problems” kind of writer. And let me tell you, that’s what happens when you grow up in a family of seven kids where the kitchen table was the United Nations of life—except with fewer resolutions and a lot more biscuits.
Home is where the heart is...Scents that spark memories
At the heart of this blog (and my life) is the kitchen—a sacred space in any Irish home, and now mine here in Dallas. It’s where my husband, the crazy chef (you know, the one pouring wax and crafting the chef-made soy candles), works his magic, whether it's in a soup can or on a plate. It’s where we brew endless cups of tea, chat about how we would run the world, and where we try (and often fail) to keep our rescue dogs from stealing the snacks.
This blog isn’t just about candles, though. Oh no. It’s about the things that bind us—scents that spark memories and transport us, food that brings us together, and those memories that make us laugh (and sometimes cringe). There might be a recipe or two thrown in for good measure, but no promises on Michelin stars. We’ll steer clear of religion and politics (because we are Irish, and we know better), but expect a lot of chatter about life, creativity, and a love for rescuing dogs who refuse to stay off the kitchen counter.
Until the next brew:Keep the flame burning
So, what can you expect from The Banshee’s Table? Stories, scents, and a whole lot of fun. I’ll be sharing what makes Gluttony Candles special, why I decided to start a blog, and maybe even poking fun at myself along the way. I might not have all the answers, but I do have a passion for candles, food, family, and making the world smell a little better, one soy candle at a time.
Thanks for pulling up a chair at the table. Let’s light a wick, brew some tea, and get to it!
Before you go, I’d love to hear from you! Drop a comment below and tell me—what’s your favorite scent that brings back a cherished memory? Or just say hi, I don’t bite (the dogs… well, that’s another story).

What a fun first blog!! The smell of anything pumpkin brings me all the "feels" of my childhood with my Gram and her side of the family during Thanksgiving. We always had more food than we knew what to do with, and I bet they made a casserole out of anything you could imagine, but boy oh boy was it so very good! The pumpkin pie was so delicious, I loved how my Gram used to load it up with whipped cream for me! Great memories, thank you for reminding me!
